I just went to my endo last week and all of my hormone levels have ereturned to normal range, as well as my insulin thanks to my metformin. My husband and I would really like to have another baby soon, how long should we wait to try, and if my hormones are normal will my PCOS even affect my fertility? My endo isnt overly helpful with answering questions and he is the only one in my area.

Thanks a ton!

Sorry, I should have added that I have a 2 1/2 yr old son who was conceived without meds prior to developing PCOS. I am going to pick up some Ovulation kits today and start tracking!

I'm sorry your endo isn't helpful. That's so frustrating.

With hormones in a healthy range, and insulin also, you may have a pretty good chance at getting pregnant, but even with ovulation, women with PCOS still seem to struggle with getting pregnant. Many times, we do better using clomid along with metformin to bring our chances of getting pregnant up. Chart your cycles, and make sure you're ovulating, use OPKs, and see what happens. If you're ovulating, and having sex at the right times, and nothing happens in six months, you may want to discuss adding clomid to your routine. Good luck.

Sounds like the metformin is working for you. Congrats on that. Sadly, no one can predict if it will be easy for you or not. My educated guess is that if everything is normal...then it shouldn't take you any longer than a woman without PCOS. Of course...if you are on BCP...then that could make your hormones all normal (I am assuming that you are not on them). Also, what did it take for you to get pregnant before? Were you able to get pg only on metformin before? If so, then your chances are very good that you wont need to go through too much this time. Good luck.
