She has had a fever for 24 hours now. I have been giving her motrin liquid and tylenol chew tabs off and on. She throws them both back up. I know she is not alergic to either. She just doesn't like to take meds.
She is very picky about how things taste. I even put meds in apple sause and ice cream today and she still couldn't keep them down. Her daddy had to come over and stay with her to drink the suryup. After 2 hours and throwing most of it back up, we finally got 2tsp in her and her fever is below 100. I know most mother must have a trick of some kind. I don't like saying... "you don't want me to have to call daddy again" Thanks for any advise you have.

To swallow pills I taught my kids to take a drink, put the pill at the back of their throats, take another drink.
My sister taught her kids to either take them in applesauce, or to chew up crackers and just as they were about to swallow, to toss the pill it, and these methods have worked better for her kids than my method has worked for my kids.
It does sound like she has an upset tummy and not that she is intentionally throwing them up. If you don't think she's trying hard enough, I hate to suggest this, but can you bribe her? My kids have always responded well to bribes.

Does she have a stomach bug? If she is throwing them up because of that, then it isn't her fault at all. And the chew tabs really seem to dissolve, so even when my kids threw them up, there was no medicine there. If she can't keep the stuff down, and her fever stays above 101, then you need to call the doc about possibly getting a suppository instead.

My daughter is almost six, she takes a single Motrin pill 200mg. I told her to put it on the back of her tongue and take a drink of water and pretend like it wasn't there and swallow.. and it went down on the first try. My younger daughter doesn't like taking medicine either.. I just tell her that shes not going to feel any better unless she takes it.. and that it taste nasty but she needs to take it .. and I always have something for her to drink as soon as shes done taking it.. I tell her easy way.. or hard way.. and she will say whats the hard way.. and I say I sit on you and make you take it.. or you take it with no fight.. and then she says the easy way..lol.. not that I would really do that.. maybe you could bribe her.. or if you have to .. they make Tylenol suppositories.. she cant throw that back up.. maybe after using them a few times she will find that she would rather take the medicine by mouth.. good luck

Ask your doctor for Tylenol suppositories. When kids have a very high fever, many times they just cannot keep liquid or pills down. It is always good to keep suppositories in the house for emergencies.

You could try a cool bath, but not too cold. The meds are just to keep the fever down, not get rid of it. That only happens with time. If she is keeping her food down and only throwing up the medicine, cold compresses and cool baths are a much more natural way to deal with fevers, and sounds like your best bet to me.

When my daughter was 5 and very sick, we got Tylenol suppositories from the pharmacist. You can buy them without a prescription, but you have to ask the pharmacist for them. They did the trick for us! What I used to do was put my daughter in a warm bath, sort of tepid water, that brings down the fever fast, too

I would just wipe her down for now if the fever is tolerateable and not too high.
If you must do medicine try giving super small amounts at a time. And tell her that she will just have to take it over and over. I find most kids purposely make themselves throwup or whatnot so that they dont have to eat anynore or take any medicine.

Chocolate syrup disquises everything chrush pill or mix meds w/ syrup, down the hatch. Also their is a reason a body has a fever, to kill an infection. Most fevers are not harmful. Try a cool bath instead if the pills do not work it will instantly drop her temp.

First of all take this kid to a doctor ASAP. She is probably dehydrated from not keeping anything down. On the pill thing though, my cuz had a bad gag reflex and could never swallow pills or even tabs. His mom used to melt them in a spoon of hot water, and he'd take it that way.

My seven year old now takes pills; the way I got her to have success with it was to have her put the pill as far back on her tongue as she was comfortable with--not enough to make her gag--and then take a SMALL sip of water. Most kids take too big a gulp of water. A small sip will do the trick for most.
