They are already doing it. I saw a woman starved to death in the hospital just because her daughter didn't want to take care of her.

What planet do you live on..? We're already there... have you been around terminally ill people lately - I have. It's the same for young and old... There are some hospital cases that are just so hopelessly beyond help that the decision to assist in dying is often taken. Withholding essentials is an increasingly common practice used for terminal hospis and hospital cases of these types.

It's not exactly "killing" them, but it's as good as... It's done by keeping them on pain meds and sedatives combined with not assisting them to thrive, (withholding nutrients and even water,) and then, just letting them die.

It's sad... but it's humane at the same time.

We do it now. Healthcare costs are disproportionately high (Thanks to all the lawyers) for older people to afford, and the extended family concept is all but gone.
So, in a way, we let them die an agonizing death hopefully shortened by the unavailability of care and medicine.
Golly gee, I can't wait til I retire..

in canada, they set older people adrift on ice flows to die. or at least that's what rick mercer says.
