question about christianity

Yes.

God created all life in Christianity starting with Adam and Eve in Genesis. Even if a man does extinguish another's, he can still repent and be forgiven, preserving and exerting his own livelihood.

Jesus said, "If your brother sins, rebuke him, AND IF HE REPENTS, FORGIVE HIM." (Luke 17:3)

Because of this, the one sin which cannot be forgiven for is suicide because it is impossible to repent after doing so. This is why Judas was not forgiven after killing himself for betraying Jesus and goes to Hell. Jesus knew Judas would betray him, but what committed Judas to hell was that he took his own life.

Hello. Wow... heavy question. Should you desire my input, I'll give it to you. For a person who commits murder, I would by no means consider their life sacred. As for that which is sacred, it is something that is consecrated or set apart to God. Well actually, a life outside of salvation through Jesus is not sacred. I believe a life of such a one is still loved by God, for God hates the sin committed. God can reach such a one and make that life sacred, set apart, and have that person find his potential. All are created with a God given potential, and it has to be worked with. There have been those on death row who've asked God to forgive them their ungodly deeds, and upon death they went to heaven to be with God. Essentially, a life outside of Christ is bent toward sin... but one in Christ is a new creation. Hope this helps.

What is "sacred"? Is life, simply because its life, worthy of such reverence?

Helen Keller would probably say yes...

Each is the judge of their own worth. No one has the right to judge whether another is worthy or not... But when one becomes the judge, whether through the taking of another's life, or through trying to decide if those who take life are worthy of life, life is taken off it's pedestal and measured against a standard on which no one can agree...

So live and let live...

Judge not lest ye also be judged...

Treat other's how you would like to be treated...

And next time you feel you need to take a life, go get your own instead...

No. God said they should be killed. The only way they can be considered anything is if they repent.
