You could call 'ain't' slang in the sense that it's used in informal contexts, but it's actually referred to as a colloquialism because it stems from one area (the south), it's only normal in conversation in the south (for the most part), it's largely confined to that geographical area and is only really accepted as okay within that dialect.

It's basically an all-encompassing contraction for 'am not', 'is not', 'are not'. 'I ain't, you ain't, she ain't, we ain't, they ain't..."

ANYWAYS, long story short: it means "I'm not there," or even, as the above poster said, "I'm not with it/I don't understand/I disagree."

heh...it's American Southern and improper to use. Often hard for not only overseas persons to understand but even the North and Northwest areas of America to understand properly.

I ain't there.
means simply
I am not there.

ain't is a terrible slang contraction of are not or am not. It really should not be used, but that's the thing about Southern slang, no one reckons to speak it right and ya' just can't get it out of normal use, ya' know?

ain't ain't a word in English, but ain't it a right shame it's been inducted in the dictionary.

I ain't there = I am actually there, but I am not going to tell you since I don't want to be bothered.

I believe it is a modern way of saying, "I don't get it", or "I don't agree".A little slangy. Mmm
