if you are unsure about what food is being offered, ask what it's ingredients are.
Some of the best food in worldwide cuisine has names that are difficult to pronounce.
Be willing to stretch your gastronomic vocabulary and experiement!
You won't like everything that is offered, but you will find some new favorites and eventually be able to pronounce them (and if you cook - you can learn to make them at home!)

YES YES YES. That's why I have a huge problem with sugar free, fat free and reduced fat foods. If I wanted to eat something with diametabolizedmonosodiumhydroliccarageenan acid in it, I'd go out and buy a bottle of it and add it to my foods myself!!!

not really. find someone to translate, or go to restaurants with dish names translated into english, along with a short description of the dish. That is mandatory in all good eateries as a sign of a well-planned menu. also, when in doubt, ask!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
