Because most religions oppose homosexuality!?

Most liberal religious groups don't oppose homosexuality. Although it is true that many, many homosexuals are driven to atheism by the hatred and intolerance that religious people commonly show them, those who prefer to remain religious often find congregations which share their concern for tolerance and open-mindedness. There are many liberal denominations of Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, etc. that are quite open about these issues, and there are even whole religions (though it is debatable whether these can really be called "religions", per se) that are based on this notion of open acceptance and tolerance, such as Unitarian Universalism. So, homosexuals certainly have a choice to both accept themselves for who they are and to be religious; it's just a lot tougher than for most.

Not really, as far as I know the religion that opposed to homosexuality most are the Christians and the Muslims, the rest have no special opinion on this issue.

WRONG WRONG AND WRONG.
Being an Atheist means not believing in the power of God. Don't turn away from God, just because of some mythological sections which claim that God turned homosexuals into pillars of salt! Don't read it that's all.

REMEMBER - If the merciful and Almighty God did not "approve" of homosexuality, no one would ever have been born with homosexual tendencies. What's God like, a schoolmaster?

Not all religions oppose homosexuality. Whether or not they oppose homosexuality is based on interpretation of their religious works. Many people believe in God and his messages and are gay or homosexual. They choose to interpret the bible differently than the people that see homosexuality as being a sin.

Also, there are many other exercises, such as chinese qi-gong, that focus on peace in ones innerself, but still have a base in the principles that many religions focus on.

People are missing the point. There is no condemnation in Jesus. One sin is just as bad as the other in the eyes of God. If you worship in spirit and in truth, you recognize that it's all about unconditional love and mercy. I could easily understand a practicing homosexual finding in the Gospel truth, hope and salvation. We all have our own crosses to carry. No one's exempt. Being intolerant, unmerciful and unloving toward any homosexual is a dead giveaway that that person doesn't have a clue as to what real Christianity is all about.

Most religions oppose robbers, murderers, idolators, liars, arbortionists, etc., etc. Rom 3:23

Keep in mind that there is nothing you can do that can make Jesus love you less unless you dont love Him.

I guarantee you that there are all sorts of homosexuals in your local churches. You need to ask Him to help you find a welcoming home church. Jesus will take you as you are. He is waiting to see you again.

Try some eastern religions, but its okay to stay an atheist, the world is so full of egoistic religious people who looks upon others with contempt and the reason most seems to be religious is just to save themselves from the wrath of God(?) and going to hell.

i just found out that the branch of christianity my parents practice actually oppose homosexuality. this infuriated me. god's actual view on homosexuality, according to the bible, is that it's NOT a sin to be homosexual. because personally, i believe that your sexuality is something you're born with and not something you choose, and god wouldn't create anybody in a way that makes it impossible for them to go to heaven someday. what's makes homosexuality a sin is to PRACTICE sinful homosexual acts. and technically, if you believe in god, you're not an athiest. i've know gay people who were christians, they just struggled finding a church that accepted them, which only made them look even harder.

No, actually most religions don't. It's mainly the fundamentalist Christians who make a big fuss over the issue.
