You are well on your way, Mala. Good for you!

First, I recommend you find a good study bible that is heavily commented to use as you read the bible. The NIV Study bible is a good one, and so is the MacArthur Study Bible. I use a Thompson Chain Reference bible, but I own about 12 bibles so I can review many translations.

You should also get the Strongest Strong's NIV Concordance so you can look up any word used in the bible and find how that word is used in all the verses in the bible. This will help you to gain more understanding of the meanings of the verses you are reading.

With these two tools you can structure your studies around themes (salvation, love, witnessing, Christian life), history (the exodus of the Jews, life of Christ, the early church), or people (the prophets, poets, kings).

By the time you finish these studies you will have discovered some topics that you are very interested in and can dig deeper using specialized books, articles, and other sources.

Later, you may even want to think about attending a bible college or university to study theology and philosophy!

Do what people were told in the time of the apostles...

As the FIRST Gospel sermon was being preached, Peter was interrupted with a question:

Acts 2:37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

...We are now almost 20 centuries later, yet the TRUE answer to that question HAS NOT CHANGED. The "sinner's prayer" IS NOT FOUND in scripture, NOR do we EVER see ANYONE told to pray in order to ENTER into a relationship with Jesus.

Email me and I'll try and help you get on the right track.

I belive you are geniuine, and I will answer. First of all stop watching tbn if you are. Most religions teach men's traditions insted of God's Word. Study God's word for yourself. Mans books are worthless and of non profit. Study the Bible. Also get a Strong's concordance, With it you can from the king james breack down the english word back to the old teastement hebrew and the new teastement greek, and you will bet a better understanding.

There is actually alot of stuff online. I don;t know about other video sites, but youtube has alot of biblical videos, that are much like sermons, without the crowds. Also, you can get sermons on cd or dvds now too.

God bless.

PS the Bible tells us that God gives us strength in our weaknesses, talk to Him about being delivered from your problem with crowds and believe that He will do it, and the crowds wont be as big of a problem for you. Tell Him that you want to move farther in your walk with Him, and you need His help to do it. Paul wrote "you have not because you ask not"
Like Jesus said, cast your mountain into the sea. "Cast your cares upon Him, because He cares for you"

Go out and do what Jesus said to do, "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15. Reading the Bible is good, and prayer is awesome, but if that is all we do, and not follow Christ's example and seek and save the lost the way Jesus did, then what good are we. When Jesus said to preach the gospel to every creature, that was a command given to us. Sadly only 2% of the church in america today actively share their faith with others. It seems that the other 98% are either locked in the church or they simply just don't care about the fate of the lost. They pray and pray and pray for revival and for the lord of the harvest to bring forth laborers, but never do they put feet to their prayers and havest. So, my suggestion is simply, seek and save the lost, share your faith with others. check out http://www.wayofthemaster.com to learn how to share your faith biblically and effectively the way Jesus did.

Religion broadcasting will get you totally confused. Find a church that believes in the Spirit baptism. Some churches that are not connected with any denomination believe in a real experience. Or you could check out Pentecostal churches.

If you have realized that you are a sinner, and you can't save yourself, but the only way you can be saved is if God comes down and saves you (and in fact He has done so already by sending Jesus to die to take the penalty for your sins), then Congratulation! you are a Christian already.

I would love to talk to you more. This is not a good forum for extended discussions. Please contact me personally (gbisaga at yahoo dot com) and I would be glad to help you along. I went through the same kind of conversion not so long ago, so maybe I can help.

If you don't contact me, please please PLEASE get in touch with other solid Christians. Don't try and be a "lone ranger" Christian - it won't work. I'd avoid most Christian Television except for the "NRB" channel if you have satellite. Most Christian radio is pretty good though. Also find yourself a good local church. A Calvary Chapel, Reformed Baptist, or Presbyterian Church of America would be good places to start. I would be glad to help you find a good healthy local church to join up with.

Religion is reaching out to touch God. But through Jesus we encounter God reaching down to touch us. Just believe in your heart that He is the Son of God who died for all of your sins, and ask Him to forgive you and it is done. He will guide you. Read the scriptures daily and you'll start to to know and understand what He teaches you. He can even take care of your issues with crowds, or lead you to a small neighborhood church.

Try a Church at a Hospital.. it sounds funny... but when my grandma was there... and we took her... there was hardly anyone there... and they still held a real mass..

Also there are churches that will send someone to your house to minster to you...just call a church and explain your problem... i am sure they would be glad to help.

I don't know a lot about it tho... as I am a Buddhist... I just thought these ideas might help you

Aren't you connected with a home Church? When you get together with other believers, like yourself, you will be able to identify, socialize and grow spiritually. It helps so much to be connected with the body of Christ, because you meet others there who are in the process like you are. Love, be bless.
