I have a soft spot for the Maine Coon cats. We have one and he's just the most lovable cat. Friendly, affection, and a heck of a guard kitty! Honest!

My favorite breed is the siamease. The short haired siameses tend not to shed as badly and contrary to popular believe, they are very loving cats. They are very loyal to their companion, however, most of them are very vocal. If you can stand a cat that loves to speak, one that wants to be a lap baby, then this is the breed I recommend. I would actually adopt one. You can go to most animal SPCA's and find one that is just right for you. I am not saying that this has to be a pure breed. When people buy pure breeds, they tend to think that because they pay so much money, the cat will automatically be like they want them to be. I have had siamese breed mixes for a while. They are great. The last two that I adopted were siamese mixes and they are great. I adopted a brother and a sister and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Siamese, lilac point spefically. We had a seal point growing up, but I prefer the coloring of the lilac.

I like Siamese for all the reasons that most people hate them. They are very communicative, independant, loyal, and (oddly enough) protective... Our siamese was better than a guard dog. We had to hold him when anyone knocked on the door. If he didn't like you, you were not going be let in the house. Also, he would stay with us if we were sick. He'd only leave if he absolutley had to, to eat or use the bathroom.

And ( I know this was just the cat and not a specific of the breed), he would lick Absorbine Jr off my grandmother's knees. He made her laugh. And many people that hated cats (or siamese) before they met him would soon enough fall under the spell of his charms. There will never be another one like him.

I love the mixed breed kitties you find in every neighborhood.

My favorite is the medium-hair length blue cream/ dilute tortoiseshell/ calico (gray and cream patches). Calicoes are beautiful because no two are the same.

I love my beautiful, sweet kitty Misty with all my heart. She passed away 12 days ago, and I miss her so much. She will always be the most beautiful, wonderful kitty in the world to me, and I could never replace her.

I was lucky to have about 18 years with her, including a second chance to spend time with her after she returned to me after a 9 month absence. We grew up together, and I am so lucky to have her in my life.

Whatever breed of cat you decide on, I hope you will find a friend as wonderful as the one I was blessed with.

Good luck, and I hope this helps! :)

all cats are gorgeous. I dont have a favourite breed, but I do prefer cats that are adopted out of pet shelters because I find most to be extra loving and friendly. I guess because they go from having nothing to having so much attention and love :) my cat used to be a stray he is beautiful, very large, all white short-haired domestic with green eyes. aw, dontcha just LOVE cats??

I have five and I love each one. They are a funny bunch. But my Siamese mix has the best personality of them all. He is a big boy (weighs 13 pounds) but he still acts as though he weighs 2 pounds. He likes to jump on my back and get piggy back rides around the house. He talks and wiggles when he wants to be picked up. He just loves when I pick him up and dance around! And there is nothing in the house that he will not get into, lol. Meezers are the greatest!

To be perfectly honest I have a purebred Siamese, and a Heinz 57 varieties yard cat. And I wouldn't give up either one.

Miss Ling the Siamese likes to talk to us and keeps anyone in the house company. While Toby the yard cat likes to be talked to and often lends a helpful ear when you need someone to talk to. (I swear he was Sigmund Freud in a prior life) he will actually seek someone out who seems depressed.

My favorite breed is cat. LOL...

I have two. The Siamese for it's markings. the ones I have had in my life have always been loving and very talkative. The other is the Abyssinian. It is believed to be a sacred cat of Egyptian past. It is also very smart and curious.

I've always liked, cats of different breeds but, I like the long haired ones, the best because, I enjoy running my hands in their furr, brushing them, and being with them lots.

My sister, has one long haired cat, and his name, is Maxwell or, as we call him, Max or Maxie.

He's one of the sweetest kitties and most loving ones, I've in my life had, the priviledge of knowing. And, I love him a bunch.

Munchkin cats are awesome! With their little short legs. I also like calico-they are so beautiful. I have a black cat and a brown and white tabby cat. Both are very pretty!
