There isn't any Nike HJ shoe with springs attached to the bottoms!!! High Jump shoes are different in that they have spikes on both the toe plate and spikes on the heal plate. The soles of the shoe are also formed so that the jumper is up on their toe's and not running flat footed. This is important because a jumpers heal should only hit the on the last step with the plant foot hitting heal first (thus the spikes on the heal plate).

As for which brand is the best... I had Nike HJ shoes. But I prefered Nike's over other running shoes as I liked the way they fit. So I would say it is personal choice. There isn't a large choice (each brand only makes one type of HJ shoe) so I would go with the shoe you like the most. Another words the right price, a brand you like, and the apperance you like.
