I'm not sure. I'm interested too, as there are a lot of religous, and often creepy, refrences in the show.
Every notice how the numbers always pop up? Like when Hurley is driving his car the the airport and the number slowly flick back as his car dies, go in slow mo. You can see all the 'numbers' as they flick back.

I have no idea of what the inverted Buddha means but the numbers look like lottery numbers to me.

please don't get yourself all bent out of shape trying to figure out the 'meaning' behind those numbers (or anything else) on LOST.
the show is not supposed to be a puzzle for viewers to solve. it's a character drama - the show is about the characters, their histories and their relationships.
the mystery that surrounds the LOST guys is what keeps those characters interesting. the meaningless number sequence and the inverted buddha are part of that, along with a whole lot of other symbols.
'what does it all mean?' is what keeps the show going - but it's not what the show is about.
