You should not be trying to keep him out of your mind, but focusing on "constructive" ways to find closure and learn what you want in a man.

Try to write 3 blogs or poems
Poem 1 - about the love you shared and how great it was
Poem 2 - about the problems you faced in your relationship
Poem 3 - about why you broke up, and if you think you made the right decision. Would you make the same decision again if you could?

Funny, but writing these things down will help your mind stop going thru the endless cycles of loss.

Be surrounded by hot guys! Even if we're in a committed relationship, everyone has a fantasy or fancy. If that is possible when u're happy in a relationship, then u can still fancy guys post-relationship.

I'm talking from past experience. I endured a heartbreaking split, and I was blissful one whole night I was hanging out with hot guys and my cousin at the club! I didn't realized I was carefree until I got back home in bed...

Another piece of advice, don't ask about him, it will break you more..If u heard he has a new G.F, u'll swear u wish u didn't know. And avoid seeing him, what the eyes don't see, the heart doesn't grieve for... I know it's hard, but it's harder doing the opposites.

Last, hang out with your special female friends, plan things together to have a good laugh. They should be there to hold ur hand thru this tough spell.
I agree with what said. Single female friends are better, they don't have to remind you of their romance when urs just flew out of the window. You should play a game among urselves who gets the potential love interest first!
Good Luck!

Spend Saturday night with Ben & Jerry's....

Actually, I saw that on an icon not too long ago...oh well...just try to hang out with your friends or family. I have always found that a good way to get stuff off of my mind. Do something creative or just something that can calm you down and clear your mind.
Examples: drawing, writing, some extra sleep, or some time to yourself (like shopping or something that you enjoy doing alone)

Guys come and go! you should go shopping, do things you enjoy doing! why cry while he 4gets? why waste time... this is a saying i made up...
ur changing the time to become for the time to regret...and that what you're doing if you cry and worry bout him but you can become a better person if you move along... Just enjoy being single again!!! you worry less about other girls hitting on him or he cheatin on you! hope diz helps! U know gurlz nite out! gurlfrienz are a great help!

I just broke up with my gf a week ago and I couldn't get her out of my head. I recommend you get busy with some hobbies and other recreational stuff like working out. The busier you are the better. And don't go for a rebound relationship. They are worthless and will just lower you self esteem. Wait it out and i'm sure you'll eventulally find a good guy.

There wasn't any Love, there. Or you'd still be with him now. If there's no Love? You shouldn't be thinking about him. There's someone, out there. Just waiting to treat you like The Lady that you are. Go find HIM! Cause he's lonely too. And he's wantin' to treat you, a whole lot better than the last one.

Im going through the same thing, I was engaged.
I know it hurts, but dont focus on the pain the best thing you can do is focus on great times you had together and be thankful for that, and only thankful but be thankful also because your life will be full of people who will come and go; he just happened to be one that lefy and its a good thing because it can only get better than what you had.

There is probably nothing to take him out of your mind. It takes time and I know it's painful but keep your head up. If your not wanting to go that route theres always Jim and Jack to lessen the pain. Best wishes
