kermit: can everyone really choose...are u sure? The freedom of choice *should* be there. The assumption that all can choose just might peg you as a USA citizen. ;-)

Buddhist because I am...

And where ever I can continue to practice the Dharma..

Living in a Buddhist country would be too easy... to many people like me... not enough of a challenge to my belief's...

to truly stand by my belief's and act like a true Buddhist... i need to be around people who don't live that way.

(does this make sense?)

I choose to practice what is inherent inside my soul - the love of God. She has always been there, speaking to me quietly, yet I have followed everybody else's choices. Until the last few years. I have grown in Her love - and have gained a peace unknown until now.

I would not chose to live in any religious community. I do not follow a religion, and believe religions are man made. Meaning that they are good for helping people celebrate and get closer to God. But they also carry the possibility of flaws, of indoctrination of principles that could cause great harm. And religion is merely believing and hoping in God - not actually knowing.

I believe faith is Divine - it is a knowning, not a believing in God. And if you are blessed with this - it does not matter what community you live in.

1. Buddhism
2. Buddhist community.

I'm a Buddhist. I have no problem with other religions, however i just have a strong connection with this religion due to my own mentality and personality.

In Buddhism, the best part it attracted me is they say i don't have to simply believe, even it is the teaching of Buddha. We have the freedom to explore, study, ask tonnes of question when we in doubts, even challenge the teaching when it don't seem logical to us....

and from that, i know i will committed in this religion for the rest of my life and in future life...

I have chosen. I'm an Agnostic.

I'd choose to live in a society where religion truly didn't matter, and didn't rule public opinion or government.
