We won't stabilize Iraq. We will leave and the country will continue it's civil war, murdering innocents, bombing each other, killing as many people as possible. That's the way it is over there. They have been fighting for a thousand years..

Then, sooner or later, some "strongman" with the right weapons supplied by another country will take control and become a dictator...the country will once again be what it was under Saddam.

What we have done there is shameful.. Mr. Bush should be tried for crimes against humanity.

It is said that Saddam killed almost 300,00 people over the last 20 years he was in control..Don't you find it interesting that this war and Mr. Bush have killed almost 100,000 in 4 years. Whose the terrorist????

That's a very difficult question to answer because I believe the answer lies with the different religious sects within the Iraqi population. When the Iraqi people realize that it isn't in their best interest to keep slaughtering their neighbors instead of uniting for the benefit of their country and disposing of the radical and demented Islamic terrorists - then we will see real progress.
If I had to guess, I'd say, at a minimum, 3 to 5 years they will be "stabilized." It make take a generation or more to truly bring peace and normalcy to the country.
We are dealing with some long running, deep rooted hatred and a blood lust that's hard to imagine.

Never. You can read any history at all of the middle-east and you will see that they have been fighting for all of history. To think the United States and go in and change it through use of force is ignorant. The military presence is really quite small for how large the entire region is. If we try to "liberate" Bhagdad without working on the rest, Bhagdad will just get sacked by "insurgents".

Never will Iraq be a stable country again. We have created a double edged sword in Iraq. On one hand, we have instilled the ideas of democracy and freedom and have created a model of government based on our own. This will never be eradicated because a lot of people seem to like the new government. On the other hand, there are those who hate us for occupying their country, for trying to impose our own views upon them. These two sides will fight with each other long after we pull our troops out. I heard recently that 18 Iraqi police officers were rounded up and executed... These stories convince me that there will never be peace in Iraq. It's going to be like Israel vs. Palestine I think.

Never! try and google a word called vietnam. The only way to stabalize it is to leave and let the Iraq police fend for themselves. Even then will they still be unstable. By taking saddam out we destabalized the country. Now you have Iran with no Saddam who kept him in check. But hey dont beleive me do the research.

That is one thing that will never happen! They were fighting before we went over there, bush was ignorant enough to put alot of people in the crossfire. All sending soldiers did was add to the amount of causalities! Now there is talk about the US pulling out. I guarantee that the fighting will continue until
there isn't one person left to kill anyone!

We will have it stabilized a whole lot sooner than we will be able to talk some sense into the heads of the far left wing hippies.
