About a week ago I was sitting in my chair doing my work and the left side of my chest started hurting. I also started having problems breathing. It wasn't that serious, just a little shortness of breathe. It could have been my left lung or my heart or something else in that area. I was unable to do my work because of the pain. It very slowly went away though out the week. The pain gets worse when I start walking fast. I also wasn't able to sleep on my left side because it will start hurting. What could be wrong with me?

It could be a number of things... you may or may not have had a mild heart attact that day you were sitting at your desk. An artery (or more) that supplies blood to heart muscle may be blocked, which would cause the chest pain, and bronchoconstriction (tightening of the airways) is another symptom of cardiovascular disease. I would definately get in to see a cardiologist ASAP! You need to get on some meds to contol your symptoms before it's too late to do anything about it. Many cardiovascular conditions can be reversed with lifestyle changes and medication, so you can still have a long life ahead of you. But DEFINATELY go to a doctor!!!!!

i agree with the lady above me. It could be pluerisy, which i had and it is extremely painful. It is a lung issue. The best thing to do is 1) stop exerting yourself until you see a doctor. 2) when lying down, hug a pillow on the side that hurts. 3) take a pain reliever (i had to take vicodin or darvocet)
It can come and go. it also can start extremely sudden.
I recommend that you see a pulmunologist

Could be a multitude of things:
heart
fractured rib
costochondritis
pulled muscle

See your Dr to make sure it's nothing serious.

Go to your doctor - it may be as simple as pleurisy but it could be a heart attack - do not ignore your symptoms.
