It's fine to eat them this way. Just don't let the egg yoke touch the outside of the shell. Or, for that matter be careful not to let the shell fall into the mixture. This is one method samanilla is spread, the eggshell.

A good mixture, put it with some orange juice, a little vanilla flavoring, and some ice. You end up with a orange julius.

It's not really a raw egg shake, it's just a raw egg.

The first 3 days that you consume fresh raw egg yolk, take only one teaspoon of it, so that your defense system has the time to adapt to the small amount of bacteria in the egg. The next 3 days you can take one whole egg yolk. And the next 3 days after that you can take one yolk more, and so on. That way your defenses system will be properly trained to fight bacteria, so that even if you eat something really bad in the wrong restaurant with your friends, your bowels will maximally move too much while your friends may be seriously ill.

For information on whether or not raw eggs are dangerous, see this page: http://www.13.waisays.com/raw.htm. Although I'm not sure how accurate it is.

I'm not sure how good raw egg tastes, but some people say it tastes like vanilla. I would personally prefer a convenient granola or cereal bar for breakfast over raw eggs. :)

The biggest reason it is a bad idea is because of the bacteria. Like another writer suggested, salmonilla, it can cause you to get extremely sick in your intestines and in very bad cases where your body can not get over the infection, death. But, not to be so extreme....
Have you ever noticed the little "astrics - *" next to the menu items at a restaurant that were meat, or egg based. If you scan down to the end of the menu, it tells you that eating undercooked dairy or meats can be dangerous to your health. Okay,...
That being said, it IS a large amount of protein FAST for your body and that is why they show Rocky do it. When you are working out extremely hard and long, your body and muscles need something to give it strength to "go the distance". But, if you are just like a lot of different people and your just in a hurry in the morning, grab a high protein/high fiber breakfast bar out the door. It is ALOT safer and your metabolism will have time to WAKE UP on your trip into work, AND has - sometimes - just as much protein in it, if not more.

I used to do this, a protein shake or a milk shake with a raw egg added, but the food police say you can get salmonella from raw eggs now, so there is some concern. I still like my eggs over easy but I think I have gotten a touch of diarrhea from them so I guess they are right.
If you are careful about your egg source it is probably OK but eggs from the grocery store are notorious for there poor dating, and are not very fresh. If you have any health problems, imunocompromised it is not a good idea.
Another answer mentioned pasteurized egg, I know there made but my store doesn't have them so I'm not sure about availability. It would eliminate the risk of salmonella.

The original Orange Julius used to contain raw egg, it was quite good, and I still eat my eggs over easy.

If there's no time in the morning to cook eggs , cook 'em the night before and just grab one on the way out and pop it in your mouth while you're in the elevator, on the sidewalk or in your car. Oh, you'd better take the shell off first. Of course I'm talking about hard-boiled eggs. Better yet, on Sunday night boil about 1/2 dozen or more and you'll have eggs all week. About a minute's more work and you can have mashed h-b egg on a slice of bread w/mayo. Fold it over and you're out the door. The absolutely last resort would be the drive-thru for the Egg McMuffin delite.

The raw egg shake is a great source of protein (and cholesterol) but the FDA has announced several times that consuming raw or undercooked meat an eggs is unhealthy because of the potential of food borne bacteria like salmonella. Of course since everything these days is bad for you, why not go for it.

Bad idea unless the eggs are super fresh. My mom used to make me a Greek dessert called Htipito Avgo, which means Whipped Egg. Take a raw egg and beat it really fast by hand then slowly add sugar to it till its almost like pudding. Really yummy. You get raw egg on Steak Tartar - as well as raw meat, so it is possible but you a) need super fresh ingredients b) have to take your life into your hands cuase you never know!

Never a good idea to eat raw eggs. Unless you don't mind taking a chance on getting sick. Why can"t you take a minute to cook them? They are delicious cooked in the microwave. Just spray a bowl with Pam, beat the egg, zap it for about 30 seconds, stir, zap 30 seconds again, repeat till it's the consistency you lilke an egg to be. So easy and fast.

To my understanding the salmonella is actually on the inside of the shell not the egg. Thats why they say you should crack an egg with a spoon. However Im no expert . i don't and wouldn't eat raw eggs. Just use your best judgement.

How about cream of wheat strawbwerry, bluberry, peach, maple brown sugar,
pour cereal in bowl set aside
then just boil water for 2 min in pot or microwave
pour water in cereal stir and padowww youv's got a delicious and heathy breakfast under 5 minutes and it's loaded with iron.
You can even add raisin's, fruit,sugar,butter... whatever you like ........

I have been putting a raw egg in my protein shakes for years and have NEVER suffered any ill effects from it. I think things tend to get blown out of proportion regarding the matter of salmonella. I say go for it.
