At my wedding, since it was outside and pretty warm, I decorated paper fans that guests could use if they got too hot with a "thank you for helping us celebrate our day" and the names of the bridal party, etc.

At my sisters wedding, she picked her favorite cookie recipe and we purchased heart cookie cutters and tying the cookie recipe to the cookie cutters. They were really cute. Good luck and congratulations!

For my wedding, I have purchased bakery bags and plan on putting homemade cookies into them. once the cookies are in- i will seal up the bags and glue a ribbon that matches my wedding colors onto it.

I thought of the whole favor thing that has my wedding info on it, book marks, and pictures of us but realized that many others have no real use for those, so food it is. Everyone likes food.

I have seen candies wrapped in lace or tulle bags, mints, hershey kiss roses, cds with the musif of the time, etc. My favorite take home from any wedding was the ones with treats... YUM!!

I went through ULINE to get my bags for the cookies.

You could also try fortune cookies that have been personalized...

or this one which seems a bit cheaper- but still good quality-

If youre on a budget save your money. It is not rude or tacky to not give favors. You are hosting a party where you are paying for the food, drinks, and entertainment of a large group of people. They dont need (and often do not even want) anything else but to share the day with you. When you consider that the average american wedding has around 100 people and the average favor costs around $2.50, you are talking around $250 spent on stuff that wont matter or even be remembered (in many instances dont even get taken which means money wasted). That money is better spent on your entertainment to be certain your guests enjoy themselves, or if that is taken care of then add it to your honeymoon funds, who cant use a little extra spending cash on their honeymoon?
Congrats and Good Luck!

Were you meaning giveaways for the guests at the wedding?

I saw these really cute looking match books that someone made and when they opened it up there was a mint inside. And it said "Mint to be together." Corny...but really cute.

It just looked like a regular flip open match book...real easy to make.

I bought little bags for mine and just put an assortment of candy in them for my guests.

I'm being married in June and am in the process of making favors for the guests. I'm using round tins, sometimes called mint tins? (smaller in size) that I found at a craft store. I'm putting a coordinating ribbon around the outside of it and attaching a decorated nametag to the top. We're filling them with the personalized M and M candies you can get customized. (Not too expensive.) We're using the tins as favors and as a placecard for the dinner.

Make your own CDs as favors with your wedding songs and other fun dancing songs on it as well. For the Cover you could just photocopy your invitation for the outside, or have a picture of you two and in the inside, like liner notes, have a thank you message..

I went to my friends wedding a few weeks ago and they gave magnets. They made them themselves and I think they said it cost less then $10. You will need business cards and magnets cut to the same size. Put a picture of the two of you on it with your names and wedding date. You can do this all yourself on the computer. It did not take long at all with just a few people glueing the business card onto the magnet.

You mean favors? Something edible is always good. That will please men and women, and it's not something that they'll just throw away or that will gather dust on a shelf. Personalized chocolate bars or cookies are good, or even a candy bar (buffet) with decorative bags to fill. Another idea is a CD of your favorite love songs. That's not too expensive. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals!
