I want to edit photos like they do in that Dove commercial. Is there a free photo editor that has similar cool features?

I have a basic photo editor, but I want something with a few more features, that's easy to use.

Regardless of your first responders' claims --- the Gimp
is NOT the only quality photo editor available for free download ---- there are literally dozens of them--- and they run the gambit from very simple and easy to use to very complex with all types of utilities and plug-ins to be utilized !!

Go to either of the sites I have given you here (simply click the link) and once you get to the site--- look over the page and click into the section on Digital Photography--- once there -- click into the Photo Editors tab and then shop the available programs to your hearts content--- take two or three of them and try them out--- you're sure to find something there that matches YOUR needs and level of expertise !!!!

Gimp, http://www.gimp.org/
Paint.NET, http://getpaint.net/
PhotoPlus, http://freeserifsoftware.com/

Note, those are the top three free photo editors I can think of. If you want more than those can do you can pick up PhotoShop Elemements 5 for about $43 online, http://www.bizrate.com/multimediasoftware/adobe-photoshop-elements-5.0-for-pc--pid510243531/compareprices__keyword--photoshop+elements__sort--7.html

You can try those free ones but you really can't ignore the features you get with PhotoShop, even elements will do 90% of the things it's bigger badder $700 brother can do.

I've never seen that commercial, but I can reccomend you to check Irfanview.

It's not really a complicated image editor, but does a pretty good job, and it's free version is very reliable and ad-free.

This is a great editor, but it takes a bit to get familiar with all the functions unless you have done a bunch of photo editing already.

i know a great one. it is called picasa. if you do a web search for google pack there will be a box that says download google pack, click it. then there will be a blue underlined link that says add or remove software or programs, click it. in the menu click on picasa and i think it will make you download the google updater also. if you need like a anti-virus there is an offer for Norton and ad aware SE also that you can get for free . picasa is an awesome program, it automatically finds pictures on your computer for you and is easy to use, i think you will love it. have fun

The only "free" program is GIMP

Everything else costs hundreds of dollars.
