What to do about heat?

My dog is 1 yrs old, due to her small size and an extended illness which she has now recovered from my vet recommended that i wait another few months to fix her so she could gain some more weight and try to catch up on size.....well now she has gone into heat and i have never dealt with this ...is there anything i can do to make her more comfrotable? I feel so bad for her ....

Nothing to make her comfortable. It doesn't cause discomfort. Watch her carefully while she is outdoors to make sure that she doesn't get pregnant.

Does she seem like she is suffering?I didnt know mine was in season until I seen alittle blood.
I dont think they are in any discomfort.Just do with her what you always do.Make sure you keep her away from any male dogs-they can smell a female in season about 3 miles away.She should be fine.If she senses you are nervous or upset,it will make her the same way.Just play with her and give her lots of love.Seasons last about 3 weeks.

You don't need to do anything. Being in heat is not as bad as women's month period,in fact it is probably more enjoyable because that is when she is interested in males! So you need to keep a real close watch that she doesn't turn into an escape artist and try to satisfy her hormones.

really nothing to do... you can get some doggy pants/underwear/diapers what ever you want to call them to put on her from causing a mess everywhere! also keep a close eye on her when you take her outside! no doubt there will be a male to show up from her scent!!!

This is a natural process.. Unless you let her "mate", there is not really anything you can do..
