I have replaced a lot of parts incl. timing chain & gears, fuel pump, filter, injectors, throtel position sensor, full tuneup, plugs ,cap ,rotor, coil, pickup coil . Idles fine when yougive it gas it stalls. when you give it gas very very slowly it will accelerate, normal gas it stalls. It seems like an accelerator pump on a normal carb. It is a throt. body. HELP?

I own a shop, and I think it could be a couple of things. Fuel filter, leaking fuel hose at tank, or fuel filter, plugged up return line to tank, or the pressure regulator. Put a pressure gage on the rail, and give it the gas to see if the pressure falls off. If it maintains pressure enough, then you may want to look at a sticking EGR valve, a vacuum leak (split where the hose plugs on), collapsing hose, or just a bad leaking hose. Did you use a can of throttle body cleaner, and give the throttle body a good cleaning? Maybe the Idle control solenoid (IAC) is sticking, or bad. If all else fails you could take it to a shop that has a computer and software with snap shot capability. The snap shot will tell you what is happening when the fault takes place, as in it takes a picture of the parameters when it does. The two things I would look at hard would be the EGR valve, and the fuel pressure regulator/vacuum leak.
Glad to help out, good Luck!!!

FUEL PUMP?

I can only tell you the problems I had on my '91 Chevy 2500 w/350 tbi.

Over a three month period, the truck developed less "top end" power. It would rev up to redline, but didn't have the same power as moderate throttle and moderate engine speeds.

It got to the point where it would crapout if I floored it trying to get on the freeway, but would still run fine in downtown traffic.
It would start right back up, but die as soon as I tried to merge back into the freeway traffic.

As it worsened, I could not get above 50 MPH, then, it finaly would not do more than idle.

I changed the fuel filter, and that helped briefly, and then finaly died completely.

The pump and fuel gage component in the tank is about $250.00

I had to change mine, and haven't had a problem since.
I take that back....I had to change the rotor and Dist. cap.

If you have to change the pump, the locking ring is kind of tricky to figure out how to remove it. It's got a center locking ring that turns. NOT the outer ring.

I would be getting it hooked up to a scanner for sure before you buy any more parts.Having said that it could be a blocked catalytic converter,or muffler or the main computer.I think that vehicle has a fuel pressure regulator also. Its anybodys guess that's why a scanner is your best chance.
