Understand completely the reasons why your separated in the first place. Do this honestly together, write them all down in a brainstorming session. Then one by one go through each issue and make sure that you have strategies to overcome the same things happening again. After you do that, talk about your expectations for your new and future relationship and if you both can understand and commit to that future when go right ahead.
