I have fair/ beige (as some sites have called it) skin and quite a large amount of freckles on my face; Hazel green to dark dark brown eyes; and nearly black brown frickin curly hair. not tight curls but many large spirals that look like the result of a curling iron. it looks good until the second day after I wash it. I have a round face that is kinda gaunt cuz I'm thin (I'm not bragging there) and a low hairline.

Anyways, I NEED a change!!!!!!

Should I dye it dark blue (If it exists in dark, as in like navy) or streak it dark blue or what? I also need a haircut. Any advice/ideas/experience? I have never dyed my hair before so I don't have a clue about it.

um not smurflike no. DARK blue. not just "blue". something like navy.
is that even possible without getting colored removable extensions?

I like my natural color and I don't want to dye it blonde or any other natural color. If i had the choice of dying my hair blonde I would keep my hair the way it is. besides I would look horrible in anything lighter than brown.

Ok should I streak it blue since everyone pretty much disagrees with dying my hair DARK blue?

can't do short. typically round faces don't look good w/ short hair. myself especially. the shorter it is the more afro like and frizzball it is.

Maybe this was a bad idea.

I am an artistic person and I would like to express my creativity. I am typically a very quiet person and nobody really knows me until they take the time to get to know me. I figure that the way to get noticed is to physically stand out. Besides, compared to so many others at my school, dying my hair blue won't make too much of a difference. my school's that crazy/creative/diverse/FUN.

i love the idea!
i was thinking of dying mine black with red but my dad said no cuz my grandma said no... but my grandma hates me so it pretty much sucks! but yeah... id say go for it!
but dont permanent dye! get like a semi-permanent or a wash out kind to see if you like it. if not then you dont have to deal with it until your hair grows out and if you do like it, then you can do it permanently :]
hope that helped!

How ironic that I see this question. I just bleached my hair in order to dye it back to it's original shade of light brown after having it black/dark brown for a couple years. I bought a bleach kit at sally's beauty supply, but I imagine you could find one in the hair dye isle in a drug store. Some are meant for highlights, and so don't include as much mixture, so look for the package that contains the greatest amount of bleach powder and developer. Then, you apply the bleach mix (the package will explain how), and then rinse it off after your hair has turned blond. You then apply a blue hair dye (many specialty stores will carry a decent selection of bright colors if you can't find any), and follow the dye instructions. I would check online to see which brands are best for the dye, but I figure bleach is bleach, and I wouldn't worry too much about brand. Also, after you bleach and dye your hair, it will be a little damaged and "crunchy", so buy a packet of deep conditioner, of one doesn't come with the dye. This will return your hair to the original softness etc. Email me with any questions, I would be glad to help.

streaks look bad. Highlights thin and evenly dispersed look great. Be brave. Get blue. I would If I could.
Just checked back on this question, and say the color you would want. I love it!

Dont dye your hair blue, thats so trashy.
People dont normaly have blue hair. If you want a change do something in "normal" hair colors.
Like dark brown with carmel highlights and straighten it...

How about lighter brown, like caramel coloured streaks? Navy blue sounds a bit drastic..
