If you have just two teeth that are out of alignment, then more than likely all of your teeth are, you just don't know it. The teeth fit together or interlock with each cusp on the upper fitting to the lower in a particular pattern. When a few teeth are out of this alignment or interlocking pattern, it throws them all off. This alignment problem can cause a patient to have a developmental deficiency in the facial bones that causes the lower jaw bone or upper palate not to grow to the correct size to maintain all of the teeth. This is shown in facial features and in the profile of the face. This is usually shown in patients with teeth in an jet or over bite, referred to as buck teeth. It's where the upper arch didn't widen enough during growth to maintain or house all of the teeth when they erupted. These developmental problems can cause excessive wear on the teeth, pain in the jaw area or better known as TMJ, clenching or grinding of the teeth and many other problems later that can be avoided with orthodontic treatment. So orthodontic treatment isn't "just for looks or vanity" it's to help eliminate the risk of having problems caused by poor alignment. After all your teeth are needed for more than just smiling, hopefully they will serve their purpose for you for the rest of your life.

If you don't have a problem with the way you look then smile and be proud. On the other hand, if this is something that you are considering, go see an orthodontist. Most orthodontist offer consultations for little to no fee. Check with at least 2 since treatment options may differ. I wish you the best of luck.

You may need a retainer or you could need braces. I didn't think I needed braces but I ended up needing them. If you do get braces you probably won't need to have them on quite as long as most people do. You're dentist or orthodontist could tell you.

If your teeth arent that crooked, the you dont need braces. There is no point to waste around $3000 for only TWO brackets. Retainers will straighten them just fine, and that is what they are for. :)
HOPE I HELPED

Learn to play an instrument that has a mouth piece like the trumpet or french horn. Using that mouth piece over time will do what braces would do!
Instead of wire in your mouth for years, you learn to play a instrument, straighten your teeth and bring joy to yourself and all who hear you!

They make clear retainers now, you can hardly see them at all. Just remember to stick with wearing them even after your teeth have moved in the position you want, especially at night.

My god you lot are vain, vain, vain!!! Leave them alone, it gives you character - don't you want to be an individual? Depending on how old you are, the younger a person is the more the facial bone structure is altered. Live with what you were born with and save your money for more important things.

I personally think that not perfect teeth are nice! It's refreshing to see something different for once, unless they are really screwed up.
