They wouldn't invade Mexico on a whim, and they wouldn't need to insert troops just to arrest a drug lord, when a few FBI agents could do the job.
They would certainly invade Mexico if it was a matter of national security and they felt the Mexicans were being beligerant about it.

That is a good question. I suppose that it would actually depend on the specific President in charge at that time. Right now, I doubt that initiating in any sort of campaign in addition to the Iraq war would damage President Bush's administration even more. Considering that he has gotten one of the lowest public satisfaction ratings in history, I personally think that he wouldn't bother. This is also not to mention the nation-wide border fence and its purpose as an anti-terror device takes precedent over the drug issue. (Don't forget, contraband has always existed, and always will exist. Unless manuel Noriega took some sort of offensive measure against the US, I wouldn't bet on troop placements.)

The U.S. creates monsters like Noriega and Saddam Hussein and Bin Laden and then later goes against them. Mexico has been one of the best friends the U.S. has had. China recognizes the potential in Mexico and is preparing to invest millions in setting up factories and companies, something the U.S. should have done long ago which would have eliviated some of the illegal border crossing, instead of spending millions for fencing and radar etc., Without Mexican labor our produce would be sky high at the markets. It is already proven and has been in the papers in San Diego that Mexicans spend billions of dollars annually. Places like Horton Plaza and Bonita Plaza would be dead without Mexicans shopping. The Latino influence in the United States is tremendous. Even in China a Taco chain has opened up and a Tortilla company. Many of the television stations ar owned by Mexicans and they are infiltrating the movie industry. To enter Mexico would be a violation of soverign rights let alone destroying friendship and creating irrevocable situations. If it were not for the "Gringos" spending a fortune on drugs there would be no Cartel to supply them. Just cross the border into Tijuana, Mexico from San Diego on a late Saturday and see our beloved 18 year old guys and girls drunk, drugged up, half undressed, screaming profanities and talking about who they want to screw, and then blame the Mexican police that arrest them. President Mitterand of France signed papers with the Mexican president at that time, to protect Mexico. Should anyone attack Mexico, France would come to their rescue. In addition, should the U.S. ever be insane enough to invade Mexico, Russia, China and many, many others would take action. The U.S. has kept tight control on Mexico. It spent money on Mexican elections and stuck its nose in all aspects of Mexican life to see that things were done according to what the U.S. wanted. The U.S. had Mexico agree to NO nuclear programs or testing which was a mistake on Mexico's part. Not that I would want a nuclear war, but just observing Pakistan, India and North Korea's treatment by the U.S. after they had nuclear capability shows that it is the only way to keep yourself protected. Had Iraq had nuclear power, Bush NEVER would have entered. Mexico is a fabulous country and the Cartel is just a part of it as Al Capone and Gambino were part of the U.S. We had Sam Giancana who said he had President Kennedy killed because Bobby double crossed him and the Mafia. Mexico is the gateway to Central and South America. They also set the pace. This would be a further hinderance. The U.S. already has started a campaign of hate towards President Chavez of Venezuela because he did not go along with Bush. Chavez already has 6 of the South American states on his side and has publicly stated that the CIA is out to kill him, and I do not doubt it. They even tried to kill Castro several times and why I do not know since he came to them asking for their help and the U.S. turned a deaf ear as they had their puppet Bautista who fled to Miami with millions of dollars along with many other rich Cubans who had put a ton of money in the Bush coffers both presidential and Jebb Bush's campaign. Let us pray that the U.S. will put some sense in its head and stay out of countries and their politics. Besides the CIA is the largest seller of drugs in the world to pay for their covert activities.

Sure we never learn, we had no success chasing Pancho Villa arround Mexico so why not waste a few billion dollars chasing a million dollar drug cartel. It's cheaper to fight the problem by treating addicts and good social programs to keep people off drugs. so we wouldn't do that. better to kill a thousand people waste 12 billion in tax payer money.

we've lots better subject concerns to agonize approximately than to deliver protection stress, extraordinarily considering the fact that Mexico is one among our extra effectual Allies on the international degree. different federal companies can difficulty on the subject of the cartel issues as a exchange of our protection stress.

No, only those who are violent towards the U.S. or are considered a deathly threat. They figure they can handle drug issue by other means. If they really wanted to get him they would just send in a few snipers from the military and take them out.

Why would they, they have no problem with them walking right over here and if someone does something about it, the guy trying to stop it gets put in prison.
Haven't you been reading about the two border guards in prison for trying to stop an illegal drug smuggler?
