i used to be EXACTLY like you. i don't think other people understand the etiology of this feeling or why it occurs. if someone doesn't know about something, they shouldn't act like they do. when someone feels this way, it's not because they're trying to be selfish, it's because they believe that the band (or whatever) is one of the few things they 'have' and that if someone just walks around with the shirt, it portrays a sort of superiority.

for me, i just kinda grew out of it. just like no one can be angry 24/7, you can't feel this way about others all the time. don't worry, it'll subside.

ignore some of the things the other people are saying, they're just rambling about something they don't understand. or, worse yet, they are psychologists (which, if anything, makes someone LESS credible).

You're suffering from obsession.
But just to make sure I will pose a question:

If I were to burn your favorite bands shirt would you
A) Start Crying in Fury cause you couldnt do anything about it?
B) Attack me and grab the burning shirt away from me before I completely burned--and you were even able to spare the logo from being scorched
C) Wave it off and say my loss
D) Stalk me for several days on end till you have discovered what band I like alot---then burn one of their shirts in front of me--and in that case I would wave that occurence off and say your loss.

If you hesistated between any of those answer other than C my analysis is complete and you are obsessed.
But thats okay! Because I'm obsessed with Yahoo Answers and MUSIC in general!

You're right. That's pretty weird. If it makes you paranoid and drives you crazy, yet you say you're not selfish, then you need to check in to a mental hospital because you are, without a doubt, totally irrational. That's utterly ridiculous.

I have the same problem! It does feel like your the only one who deserves to wear the band's shirt because its like you knew it before anybody else until that damn MTV showed it on its stupid video count downs!!!!! Well, that was actually me talking, but what you should do is call that person a poser!! It does get annoying, but other people deserve to hear it too even though you know you are the one who deserves it more.Just forget about the person whose wearing YOUR band's shirt, they're just POSERS!!!!

Are you kidding I feel that way ALL the time, its not weird. I hate it when someone wears the same as me, so I solved it and started making my own. I just bought some of those t-shirt transfers, designed on Adobe Photoshop, and printed those bad-boys out. You gotta take matters into your own hands if you wanna rock at the top.
