Don't get me wrong, I think he was a nice guy, but it's not like someone told others not to slaughter each other for the first time...I mean come on, it's not like we are wild animals at birth and that we're not smart enough to keep ourselves from mauling our mothers without religion...

In fact, considering that Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha Man) actually preached human decency 500 years BEFORE Jesus was even a twinkle in god's eye...

I wouldn't say that Jesus was really original at all....

Your thoughts?

What you don't know about Jesus is much. First of all Jesus has been around since before time began, as any human has ever known it. Jesus was involved in the creation of the world and His presence is throughout the OT. He is the Alpha and the Omega. There was no one around before Him. If any good was in the heart of anyone it is because He gave it to them. Yes, God did have to tell people not to slaughter one another. Moms used to sacrifice their children to pagan gods. We can actually be worse than wild animals. I never seen a wild animal fly into a building or kill just for sport.

Well, that's your belief and I respect it, but I don't agree with it. See, just because Jesus wasn't born until around 5 or 6 B.C. doesn't mean he didn't exist. Jesus and God are almost the same being. And since God has been around forever, so has Jesus. So, Siddhartha Gautama was actually behind God. And God was also teaching others since Adam and Eve, the first humans on earth.

Personally, I don't believe so either.

I also don't really feel he acomplished that much. He didn't do what the Messiah was supposed to do. Although Christians claim that's coming in the 2nd coming.

He didn't wipe out all sins - he gave people the possibility to repent to God. Something the Jews already had.

His laws (Love God with your whole heart, love your neighbor, etc) are found throughout the Torah.

Christian practices aren't original to the Pagan world. Including their fish symbol which had been around for 500 years prior to Jesus.

So no - I don't think a whole lot was new.

Jesus was Adam reincarnate coming back to undue the wrong. That is why we call him the son of man and Gods one and only begotten son. Therefore he was very original. I would like to think that being the first of the human race is defenitely original ! Anyways just my thoughts make sense to me. The Alpha and omega the begining and the end!

Do you know why they killed Jesus? He claimed to be equal with God. That was blasphamous to the Jew. He declared to be the I AM. That is why they sought to kill Him, however He had a backup plan.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"But as many as received him (Jesus), TO THEM he gave the power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe in his name, which were born.... not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God"- (John 1:12)

I count that as very original. How about you ?!!!

you are right the IDEA of living a life of love and peace was not unique in Jesus' time.
However Jesus fulfilled ALL of the prophesies concerning the Christ (Saviour) in the bible.

And just a thought - while the Buddha pre-dates Jesus - he DOES NOT predate the prophets and teachers of the old testament. Man ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil thousands of years before Buddha hit the streets with his teachings.

My thought are, you have no idea about what you are talking... Jesus was there when Adam was created. Jesus was there when the universe was created. Jesus was never a twinkle in Gods eye. This is all Biblical. Read it once in a while and then write...

The question isn't whether someone else was resurrected. The Egyptians had a god who died and was resurrected too. The difference is that Jesus made the choice to die for the salvation of all people. The others were resurrected for their own benefit

It is said that most of the preachings of Jesus were a ripoff of Moses!
And his preachings were just as ordinary as the other preachers of Judaism!
