Ms is the general term for all women.
Women do have a choice is to what they want to be referred as.
Regardless of wether you are married or not, you may refer to yourself as "Ms."
As matter of courtesy, refer to all women as "Ms" unless they themselves advise otherwise.

in the old days, like white lace, big sunday hats and white gloves the art of scandal was a big deal. Miss for the never married, Mrs. for the currently married and Ms. for the widowed or divorced.
These days it does not really matter. Many women use Ms. back and forth because their marital status is really none of anyone else's business. Even in Europe many countries are beginning to not use the never married title of Fraulein or Madamoiselle, blah blah blah.
If you want to be societally correct then yes, Ms. for divorced. For my purposes I use Ms. for everything, unless someone has a huge issue. It stops the woman's right arguement of "why does the husband need to come in and sign the title for the new car I just bought and I'm not married" arguement.

Ms. is always proper, whether married, single or divorced. If an older woman prefers to be called Mrs., she'll tell you, but Mrs. is becoming an uncommon phrase.

Something that works for everyone, just say Miss or Ms. (depending on age) and it solves everything. By the way, you do say Ms.

There's no rule. If you're not sure how a woman wants to be addressed, ask her.
And, conversely, ladies, let your friends know what you prefer, so they won't have this problem.

Yes, I believe so.
Miss- Never married
Mrs- Married
Ms. - Divorce
Some ladies even go back to their Maiden names.
I really don't think it should matter one way or the other.
