Dzogchen Monastery is one of the six main seats of the Nyingma - the school of Buddhism established based on the first complete transmission of Buddha's teachings to Tibet. Founded in 1684 in Eastern Tibet, it became a leading centre of scholarship and spiritual practice. His Eminence the Seventh Dzogchen Rinpoche, Jikme Losel Wangpo, has re-established Dzogchen Monastery in South India where it continues to uphold the unique spiritual and cultural traditions for which it was renowned in Tibet.
