You need to become a landed immigrant first, by applying through citizenship and immigration Canada in Kingston Jamaica you could visit the Canadian Embassy there and get information.
Then live here for 4 years without leaving the country for extended periods of time.
You must pass a citizenship test then you can apply to get a Canadian passport and are considered a Canadian citizen .
In some cases you will have to give up your previous citizenship .
As a Jamaican you could come to Canada as a skilled worker , a spouse of Canadian citizenship , or be sponsored by a direct family member living in Canada.

The best thing to do and to be sure of the exact requirements in going to Canada as an immigrant, write e-mail to the Canadian Embassy in your country and ask information ab out it. Or you may go directly and personally to the Canadian Embassy to inquire.

I live in Canada and I don't think you need anything to become a citizen. I think you can just come here and get citizenship right away. I'm not trying to be mean but that's why we have so many immigrants.
