Well you'd probably get by using the Lenticular lens from another TV, but the Fresnel won't due to the nature of that lens. It can't be cut at all....

So.....the Lenticular lens is the one that has the vertical ridges on the outside and the one you actually touch with your hand. The fresnel is behind the lenticular and you would have to open the TV up to touch it .

There are two layers to your screen. The front layer is called a lenticular screen. The rear layer is called a fresnel screen, or lens. They are the same on any rear projection, HD or not. For best fit, and factory performance, stick with the original. Replacing the screen is a rather delicate procedure. The last I knew, RCA replacements came with both layers taped together making the replacement much easier but more costly. This is not a job for just anyone as it requires a lot of care and lint free gloves and so forth.

Since it is rear projection instead of plasma or LCD, you saved a bunch of money. You should be able to order a replacement from the manufacturer's parts and service dept.

I don't' think that you can use any big screen t.v because everything has to be HD. You can't use anything else or else if will be standard,(SD).

You can buy an HD t.v at www.circuitcity.com or www.bestbuy.com
