I'm 30 weeks I have been careful of everything I eat and drink, I do not drink alcohol at all and never have. I bought some chicken at the store it said Bourbon, I had no idea what it was until my husband told me and it says its flavored with bourbon whiskey. This can't be bad for the baby, right? I am a little worried because I did eat a little of it. Please help I appreciate the answers.

I am sure you are concerned, especially if this is your first child, but I can assure you that the chicken is fine. If there were any chance that there was a large amount of alcohol left in the bourbon after cooking it that there would be a warning label on it and you would have to be an adult to buy it and so on.

Some doctors even think that a glass of wine is okay every now and then throughout your pregnancy, but that would be something you would want to discuss with your doctor before doing. >.>

Any alcohol would be burned off when cooked. But if you're still concerned, check the ingredients. Just because it says bourbon chicken, doesn't mean it actually has bourbon in it. Might just have bourbon flavoring. But in any case, the alcohol would be cooked off and you're fine.

You would have to have a lot of alcohol to hurt a 30 week baby. Even if it was a 3 week baby, you would have to have a drink to be concerned. Not just food flavoring. Plus, if it's cooked, the alcohol is burned off.

You'll be okay. I read in a magazine that some pregnant women still drink on special occasions. I don't but I think you'll be okay. The cooking process removes the alcohol. or takes down the alcohol level.

If the alchohol is cooked into the reciepe, you are FINE. Even if you have alittle alcohol, you are FINE. Over undulgance is what causes problems. In fact, many people who do not know they are pregnant keep on with their daily routine and when they find out, they stop. Considering you never really drink in the first place, I say your baby is going to be VERY healthy. Good job!!!

You should definitely be alright. When wine, beer, or any other liquors are used in cooking, the alcohol is cooked out of it and all that's left is a slight flavor of the liquor..but NO alcohol. So don't worry.

The sauce is made with bourbon and the cooking process elinimates the alchohol. Same with cooking with wine or sherry the alchohol cooks away and the flavor remains.

It will be no problem. The alcohol is added before food is cooked, kind of like a marinade. As the food is cooked with the alcohol, the alcohol burns off.
