Do a google image search for 'persian' and 'himalayan', and see which one looks more like the one you're thinking of.
I'd say Persian is probably the one in the ad - those are the ones that you usually see in cat championships as well. They're supposed to be a distinguished breed of cat, but I personally don't like them very much as their fur flies everywhere and I hate vacuuming :)

They are persians. Himalayians look like long haired siamese cats with a pushed in face, like they ran into the wall once too often. Angoras don't have the pushed in face, but the persians do.

It's either Himalayan or Persian, but I would say Persian.
I used to have a Himalayan but someone stole it!

Probably a persian....avoid them they shed like crazy. You have to vaccuum every day and they cost a mint to groom.
