Check http://www.tsa.gov for complete details
Gels, Liquids, and creams in 3oz containers or smaller may be packed into ONE quart sized zip-loc and screened at security. Medicine and medical items (like cold medicine, formula, contact lens solution, etc) does not need to be separated if under 4oz, but anything over that must be declared.

Currently right now the emphasis in security seems to be on liquids and gels. You are allowed to bring these items in your carry on but they must be limited by size (3 oz or less) and must fit in a 1 qt. clear zip lock bag. I would suggest that before you travel you go to the TSA website, they are the organization that sets the regulations on traveling bans, etc.... They have a complete list of what is and is not allowed in both your carry on and checked luggage.

Hope this helps and have a great trip!

Basically no liquids, gels, weapons. Besides the obvious (water, shampoo, perfume) there are things you might not think about ... toothpaste, deodorant, shoe inserts.
You are now allowed to take on VERY SMALL quantities of liquids and gels (basically travel sizes of 3 oz or less), and those have to be in a quart sized see through sandwich bag.
Best bet - just check everything but one change of clothes, urgent medicine and anything you'll need on the airplane.

Contact your airlines and ask them. Some may have different policies from others. Or call the airport or National Transporation Administration since they are the ones who set the rules about what you can and cannot have. Last I heard, you can't bring anything liquid in your carry-on, but that may have changed by now.
