Hi,

I'm getting married October 6th, 2007 and I'm wondering when my fiance and I should start registering for gifts?

Your shower will probably be 6 weeks before and the invitations for the shower will go out 6 weeks before that....if you are getting married in October, you should register no later than the end of June. Start doing the research before that, it can be very overwhelming. Read reviews on all the big ticket items on amazon.com.

With all you have to do your wedding is a little under seven months away the closer the day the more tasks for it why not go and do it now when you can have fun with it and when it is not a chore you and your husband to be make a day of it go to the stores you want and you can even go to J.C. Penney and Walmart online to register and look for gifts and I do know that if you do register with Walmart people can still go in the store and see what you want
Do things now and take the stress out have fun and remember don't stress over the wedding if you forget something or something does not get done no one will know but you.
Have a very fun and happy day and God Bless you and your future spouse with happiness and always

Congrats! I'm getting married Oct. 27, 2007 and the advice that I have been given is to register in late July. You want to make sure that your family and friends have something to go off of well before your shower, but then you also don't want to register too early and then when the season changes many items on your registry may no longer be available.

You should start registering for gifts soon after you get engaged. People will want to buy you gifts to celebrate! At the very least, register 6 months before your wedding so that people can buy you gifts for your shower and your wedding.

When you register, be sure to register at varied places--you should consider one all-purpose store (like Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens & Things or Target); one department store (like Fortunoff, Macy's or Bloomingdales) and one specialty store (Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn or Williams Sonoma).

Have fun!

I would register prior to the invitations being sent out. Other than that it is a waste of time. If you are having a shower of some sort, definetly resgiter a month before.

You should do it a few weeks b4 u send out the invitations, cuz no one really knows where you are registered until they read the invitation (unless you told them personaly). And most of the guest don't buy gifts that much in advance anyways.

I would register now, about 6 months before the wedding. This gives you about 3 months before your shower to set it up and make any changes to it that you want, then your shower is usually around 3 months before your wedding and after your shower you can reupdate it in case you got doubles or if you need to add or take things away.

Good luck!

You can start at any time. If you do it early then you are prepared for any engagement, showers, or other parties that come up. You will also have time to go and change or add things. I suggest doing it online with stores that you can purchase online and in store. That way you can update things online but go in the store to set up the registration if you want. Or you could do it all online.

Well, before the bridal shower, but to be honest, I am getting married in June and haven't registered yet.

When you send out the invitations. As soon as people receive them, they will start asking what you need and where you are registered.
