It'll all make sense when you're older.

I was the same way when I was 14. I loved the idea of having a boyfriend, but didn't really care about dating. Honestly, at 14, dating isn't really dating. Go ahead, be friends with as many people as you want to, hang out with everyone, get to know them better. Don't date unless you know that you are ready for this.

One of my high school teachers took a day from class and had us make a list of qualities you want in a husband in the future. If you do this and only date guys that possess some of those qualities, then you'll cut back on meaningless relationships and be the better for it (I've experienced a lot less heartache than others I know).

Good luck!

I totally understand where you're coming from. I was the same exact way and I still am for the most part. It's just one of those things that will happen when the timing is right. I'd much rather have one or two really good bfs during high school than to have a million which each last like a week haha

Honey, you have so much time to experiment in the world of guys - don't worry about it right now. I don't see a question here but I'm guessing you are asking if this is weird? It's totally not. I felt the same way. Wait a year or two and probably your view will change a little bit. Right now focus on what you find most important - whether it's school, an activity, friends, and family.

then find a guy that doesnt think dating is a big deal, but still would like to date you, and go out with him. at least you two wouldn't be the type who hug and make out in the grocery store. Of all places....

having a b/f at the age of 14 is a huge emotional commitment
b/f's are not just a piece of fashion or a piece of clothing to have around. guys have feelings too. at the age of 14 you should be discovering yourself first before causing yourself complexed problems both emotionally for yourself and with others.

I think it's too young to date. Go out as a group instead of individual dating and stop trying to rush growing up.
