Yes you can get DIY repair kits or get a pro fix them (if you don't want to) and they are a lot cheaper than replacing the window or letting the crack get bigger.

New winshield. Doesn't cost that much and the windshield repair guy will usually come to your home or work and fix it in about 30 minutes. Just be careful that they aren't cheaper than everyone else because they might be using a thinner glass. The only other option is to have the dings filled in. Most oil change places offer this service. As for the crack, some of the places say they can fix it, but it is never the same.

If you have comprehensive insurance coverage, you may be able to get your windshield repaired or replaced for nothing. I had a windshield replaced a few years ago because I had a rock ding that was too deep to be repaired. It cost me nothing out of pocket. Check around with local windshield repair companies (check the yellow pages).
Otherwise, go to a local auto parts store and ask for a repair kit. It's tricky for a DIY job, though.

Most insurance policies will fix small cracks with no deductible because they don't want to have to pay for a whiole windshield. Isn't that thoughtful of them?

Give them a call - they usually will send a mobile truck out to your work or home and do it quick.

There's a clear gel you can get injected into the crack to keep it from spreading. Nothing will bring it back to the original state except a new windshield.
