Ok.. my husband is a SSGT and has been in the AF for almost 6 years. He may not be allowed to reenlist in the Air Force. He wants to stay military and has been throwing around the idea of blue to green. Any former USAF members joined the army? If so, what are your likes and dislikes.
Army life is very different than AF life, I'm sure. I just want some personal opinions on the matter. Thank you

And giving me the army website is not a good answer. I've read all I can but as most know.. its more of a sales pitch than information.

I have a few friends that have done it. Army life isn't much different than AF life. It all depends on where you get stationed after wards. Army is not as anal about the little things like the AF is. The know they have a mission and they concentrate on that fact not on the minor details and what color socks you wear with your uniform. The biggest draw back will be the deployments. The Army deploys for 12-18 months at a time depending on your unit and/or job. The pay is the same and E5 is an E5 just the names are different. If he wants to stay in and the AF doesn't want him then tell him to do it.

I believe you can. I was army and there was a guy in my unit who was prior service navy. I don't know any links, but I'm sure a recruiter could help more. They probably won't fool you like they would a new recruit since your husband is already in. Be prepared though, the army is nowhere near as laid back as the air force. And btw, you wear OD green or black socks only. But you do get promoted faster, no silly tests like you take in the af. I made E-5 in under 2 years.
