I have to disagree with Isabel. I was on Inspiration in Jan and had a wonderful time. I've been on a ton of cruises (on Royal Caribbean, Princess and NCL), and I was anxious to see how Carnival was. I had read many negative reviews... but to my delight, it was great. Food was pretty good. Entertainment was great. While the ship was older (a bit gaudy in places), it was perfectly clean in all areas. The staff was great. Room was small (as they always are) but nice. Bathroom was the biggest I'd ever had on any ship- including many balcony state rooms.
Overall it was a Fabulous vacation for a great price.
Hope this helps.

Built in 1996 and renovated in 2004. It's one of the older and smaller ships within Carnivals fleet but with the renovation, it's in good shape and a nice ship. The only real noticable thing to the older fleet is some paint is painted over vs. a fresh first coat of paint on things (this is in the areas like around the tender boat launchs, etc., so the commons areas are all very nice and you don't see any "old" to anything).

It's a very well kept-up ship if you are worried about going on it. Nothing to worry about. It's just smaller than the mega-ships you see in commercials. But that's not all bad. It's actually easier to get around on than the mega-ships.

Interestingly enough, according to passenger evaluations given to Carnival on all their ships, the older ships, Imigination, Inspiration, Fantasy, have gotten higher passenger evaluations than the newer ships. (Got that from someone who worked for Carnival)

Carnival Cruise line lists facts on the Inspiration on their site. Here's the link to read up on more facts about the ship.

You may also want to check out cruisecritic.com on ship reviews for more information. I have found this site very helpful in the past.
