We drove to memphis to get this scope, spent around 600 dollars for it. Got it home tonight and he looked through it and there appears to be something inside the lens. Just a threadlike black squiggly line in the upper left quadrant. This couldn't be a crack!! And how could something have gotten inside the scope? We don't understand. What should we do, and can this be fixed?

We looked through the scope while we were in the store. The flaw was not visible at that time. But I held the gun & scope up in the front seat with me on the way home!!!

Call the store and ask them to make it right. If they tell you to call Leupold, call right away and offer to fax over your sales receipt...and demand they replace it ASAP.

It's probably a metal sliver from manufacturing that was not visible during their quality control check but came loos during shipping and handling.

OK Sounds like you had to drive some distance to get this scope.Leupold is a good scope & i'm sure there is info in the box to contact them & they will make it right . But first of all call the store & tell them the issue, you should have 30 days to return it! Sorry i have to say this so don't get mad& not vote for me . You spent $ 600 on a scope & never looked through it @ the store .... I will be nice & stop there but will you adopt me PLEASE lol

Leupold has a “full life time guarantee”.
I would take it back to the store and exchange it for another of the same kind.
That why I like Leupold and Nikon, it’s a one time investment and from then on it’s covered for the rest of your life.
Just take it back or contact Leupold and send it back to them.
But I would make the store exchange if it were mine.
Hope this was of help

Have you tried wiping the front and rear lenses with a lens cloth? Perhaps its a hair? I don't mean to state the obvious, but you didn't mention if you made sure it wasn't superficial on the outer lenses.

I would go directly back to the store and complain! I'm sure they will replace it. Be sure and check the new one before you leave the store!
