1200 Calories. You'll starve with only 1200 calories.

In the US, a Calorie with a capital c actually stands for a Kilo Calorie or 1000 calories.

A calorie with a lower case c means just one calorie.

So when you are watching your calorie intake...you actually measure it by the thousands, in KiloCalories, which is represented by Calorie.

I eat around 2000 Calories a day. Which is really 2000000 calories.

Crazy.

you don't need to capitalize the C in calories. A calorie is simply a unit (measurement) of energy, not in anyway a proper noun
