Go for it. I had braces at the age of 9 and it didn't hurt at all. I know ur not concerned about the pain, but I'm sure it might help a little. Who cares what other people think-------when ur teeth are better just think about how good they will look. And really I'm sure most people wouldn't even think anything of it. I don't when I see people. You say u don't want ur teeth to stand out, well if anything the braces would hide most of the damage. Plus, they would only get better after they were on. Good luck and go ahead and get it over with!

I was unhappy with my teeth and decided to get braces when I was 49. My braces are now off and I am so happy I decided to take care of my teeth. Other people really won't think anything about your braces. Adult orthodontics is very common these days. Yes, there is some pain and discomfort but the end result is amazing. Schedule a consultation with an orthodontist. You'll be so glad you did.

If your teeth have been bothering you why not do it now and enjoy the benefits for a long time?
Braces are much smaller these days and you can ask about getting clear anchors. Plus, it is more common to see adults w/ braces because they need to fix their bite or the crookedness of their teeth is causing other problems. Cosmetic dentistry is more common too and kind of a status thing. (teeth whitening, veneers, etc.)
What you think is most important as you have to live with your teeth. Most people won't care & anyone else who has the time to criticize you needs to get their own life. Do what you think is best and feel free to take care of yourself.

Sure, why not? I got mine at 28 and I was pregnant, that was a sight. But I did not care, my teeth needed to be straightened and it was the time to do it because I had some other issues (overcrowding and loosing teeth was one of them). My sister-in-law had braces in her 40's and was certainly not embarrassed by it. Go ahead, don't worry about what other people will think, if it makes you happy, go for it.

I think it will definitely be worth it in the end. Don't worry about what people think now, believe me. I had braces for 2 years (over 10 years ago) and still people are constantly complementing me on my teeth. Really! Go for it.

what about the white braces? It may be uncomfortable fora couple of years, but just think about how wonderful you will feel about your mouth when you get them off! OR, you could get veneers or crowns on all of your teeth, something called a smile makeover. Veneers are painless, crowns can be painful to an extent, and both are much more expensive than orthodontia.

I am 24 and I am getting braces at the end of the month. Who cares what people think? This is all about improving your smile. Go ahead and get braces. You might regret it one day in the future if you choose not to do it.

If you need braces you should get them. It will be worth it when it is over. It might not look that bad. It doesn't hurt anyway though, accept the first couple of days when you have to get used to them. But you don't have to listen to what other people think.

There are many much older than you who have done it. Our family orthodontist uses Invisalign a lot with much success. It's worth looking into because you can barely tell you're wearing anything. A better alternative for the metal braces.
