I am so depressed.

I have never had a girlfriend before and I am 24.

I've never even kissed a girl.

People are always turned off by my scars.

When I was eight, I was in a fire and most of my body was burnt.

I have scars all over, especially on my face.

I don't want to live, but I don't want to die.

I need help. I need someone to talk to. I don't think I will ever have a girlfriend. I think I will die alone. If you don't think that's true, then let me ask you this:

How many burn victims have you dated? How may burn victims have you seen with girlfriends that didn't know them before they were messed up?

I don't mean to complain, but it's hard not to.

Please talk to me.

Please don't give up! I know in today's society people are so obsessed with looks that you think you don't have a chance. A real woman will look beyond your scars, you just haven't come across her yet!! I'm sure you are feeling pretty down, but please talk to someone and just hold on!! Your time will come! Good Luck!!

I have not dated a burn victim because I dont know any but i have dated a man with physical problems due to a disese he was born with build up your confidence go places and join groups where you get to talk to other people and as your confidence soars and people with same intrests really get to know you you will find people can look past the scars and love you inside and out
I am not gorgous at all but once I started to stop dwelling on what I didn't like about myself and doing things I truly love like running I was beating the guys off with a stick
you CAN over come

Honestly darling I have never seen a burn victum in person. But people that have disfigurements do have significant others.First off.... Please dont be depressed(I know its easy for me to say that since Im not in your shoes) but you know what..I dont know you but I think your a beautiful person inside and out.....and any woman who doesnt want to be with you because of your burns is just lame and they can kick rocks. The good LORD has a better plan for you. It maybe hard.... but I think you need to go start going to a good church(Im sorry to preach at you and hope I dont offend anyone else if I do I am sorry). and start reading a bible(the king james version is good) and you need to start PRAYING and believeing the Lords good book. Yes I understand its hard to not be down and to think you will never find someone but it WILL happen in GODS TIMEING and his timing is everything. He will allow you to get a girlfriend WHEN HE FEELS YOUR READY FOR ONE now when that maybe is up to God and you should NEVER put an ultimatium on him. I think that maybe you should seek counseling to help with your feelings and remember that your beautiful no matter what your outsides look like. You made me cry. I wish I could give you a hug.
Take care and God Bless you.

Well, you just gotta put yourself out there. My brother's not a burn victum, is older than you, but he never had a girlfirend either. You know why? He doesn't try. Yes, it is gonna be a lot harder for you than for many people, but if you give up trying your chances automatically go to zero. Maybe you've been rejected or had some bad experiences, but I garentee there is someone out there for you.

Have you looked at dating any female burn victims? I am not implying those are the only women you should try to date, but hell, you've got something in common right off the bat.

I think you need to go to a therapist. I feel very awful for you. You won't be alone forever. This guy I went to school with got caught in a fire burning ditches with his dad. He had burnt most of his face and had scars. That was ten years ago. He is still wonderful and he has a loving wife and a beautiful son. I wish you luck in your life the same that my friend has. Please go see a counselor. I think you still have some issues with your accident. Please don't do anything you might regret.

I don't know anyone that has ever dated a burn victim. I think that everyone is so worried about how the person looks that they forget that there's so much more than that. I think that somewhere they exist, but I've never seen one. I don't really know how you couldn't complain about that.

Wow hun. I'm sorry for what you've been through. I think that you will find someone. You obviously have a sensitive heart and girls like that. It really doesn't matter what you look like. For example, I have a really good friend who is a miracle. He attempted suicide and shot his face into pieces. He's had over 30 reconstructive surgeries and his face is quite deformed still and he's blind. He still gets chicks. Its his personality.

Wow, I'm so sorry. If I were you I'd study & become something great. Forget about you body & create something beautiful. Then find someone who is blind who will love you for the person you are. Work with the blind & then there will be no barriers.
You must love who you are first & develop your talents before you can offer love to another.
