Yes and no. It could very well, be a sign of drugs. but, I also know people who have the same look from being extremely tired. If you are uncertain. i would just address the issue and tell him you noticed that he looked " awful " when he was over, and tell him if he ever feels like that again, you would prefer to reschedule his visit. So that he may enjoy it.

You have to be more specific. Do you mean they were like tiny slits that he could barely see through or was he beaten up? If it was the first one then yes he is an abuser. Sounds like he is either wasted or drunk. Could you smell alcohol or pot? If not it may have been another drug.

It could be, but maybe not. Maybe he had been awake for a long time. Usually other symptoms will give away drug abuse, not just drowsiness.

many things can cause this drink or a bereavment. It doesnt technically have to be drugs

it might be one of the symptoms. more important one is how he was speaking, was he speaking clearly or not and was it making sence.
