I have a 5 month old chihuahua and just this morning his tooth (one of the 'fangs') got caught in the stitching of the hem of my jeans and as he tried to move away it seems the very tip of it broke off. He doesnt appear to be in any pain or discomfort and it acting as normal but I can see the tip of the tooth is blunt.
He is due to lose these milk teeth in the next couple of months or so. Is it normal that the milk teeth can break like this? Should I be seeing a vet to have it pulled or am I best just to leave it as soon it will fall out and the adult tooth will come through?
Thanks in advance!

Being a milk tooth I dont see any reason to worry. Just watch that dest catch his lip on it to make it bleed if that happens then a trip to the vets to just smooth it down should do the trick until his adult teeth come in.

I have seen many adult dogs with the tips of their teeth broken off...it happens. If the dog is not in any discomfort and the tooth is not turning colors i would wait for the adult tooth. Please call your vet office and ask the tech.

no need to worry. It will fall out soon enough. this happens to lots of dogs. as long as the nerve isnt exposed, and it doenst sound like it is, just wait for it to fall out. A vet will only cost you lots of money to pull a tooth that will fall out shortly anyways. I have 2 dogs and baby them both but I think I would just wait this one out if i were you.

Well with baby humans if there is no pain they don't pull the tooth.

Hope that helps a little.

Milk teeth...let it be unless your doggie paws at his mouth or drinks less water or eats less food than he should.
