No. Corrupt leaders is the number one reason and so is lack of democracy. Illiteracy is also very high unfortunately.

What's is your idea of advanced? Technology? GNP? Per Capita Income?

Muslims don't believe in usury, which isn't the same as interest. Usury is a horrible, evil thing. Just look at the credit debt that so many Americans are in! If there was an Islamic loan agency near me I sure would use it. Usury has crossed my financial path more than once and it's a B----- to deal with!

Usury doesn't equal advancement in anyway shape or form. I don't agree with some Islamic ideals, but the ban on usury is something that I support 100%!

LOL you have obviously never been to a Muslim country have you? Some Muslim countries are extraordinarily advanced and are very wealthy. Never heard of Dubai? Honestly you people need to get out more, there is life beyond the borders of your own country. Do you know how many people are living in abject poverty in your own country? Thought not.

I think it has to do with that, the inequality of women and people in general.. I think they are also less advanced due to their location (Horrible, dry and barren conditions). However, African countries IMO are even less advanced than western countries. ALSO, some parts of Muslim countries are quite developed. Your view is narrow.

Majority of Muslim countries are very oil rich and those in control are the super rich in this world.
The poor are very poor and the rich are filty rich.
Their homes have gold plated toilet taps and potties and the mosque domes are gold plated.
The rich are very, very advance in education, science, as these are all purchased with oil money to find more oil.
They know how to wheel and deal for their profits.
Only it is not pass fully down to their citizens who earn just enough to survive day to day. ( This are the poor people.)

unfortunately, most of the countries are not following exactly the true teachings of islam... if they do so the conditions of their countries will definitely be different. Secondly i dont think muslims(talking about majority) are unhappy about these money matters. As for as money in this world is concerned that is just a temporary wealth which is to cheat you anytime in your life and is the cause many problems. but the wealth of faith and beleive on ALLAH makes you such rich which you will never lose, in this world or the life hereafter
It is not easy for rich people to enter heavens. and bible says that it is impossible for rich people to enter heavens.

I do think Islam brought about a dark ages that continues to today.

ONCE upon a time befor Muhammad Arabia and Persia were the masters of creation, science and intellegence.

Did you know ARABS and PERSIANS were ELECTROPLATING before Jesus walked the Earth!

It it hadn't been for Islam, Arabs and Persians might have invented TV BEFORE GALILLEO walked the Earth!

Today the Ayotollah of Iran is purging Liberal Professors from the university.

It's NO WONDER he has to get his Atomic Technology from Pakistan!

Isn't that a paradox!
