I love using home-made educational games and have made well over 1000 games while teaching my three children. I am now working with my grandsons. I also teach workshops on making games for learning. I would love to hear about educational games others have made and use in their homeschool.

My kids make their own boardgames, I don't make the games myself. I feel that it's part of their educational experience to be able to logically plan out a board, and make up the rules, and find people to play with.

On the other hand, I do usually carry odds-n-ends in my overalls pocket, so if we're waiting in line or in an office, we pull them out and make up a game right then. Usually at least one die, some pennies, and yarn. Other things have included paper clips, random lego pieces, pokemon cards, just what ever I've picked up from the floor while cleaning and forgotten to put away.

Wow, you ought to put a book together and sell it through Rainbow Resource or something! You are really creative and motivated! Good for you!

When my kids were in preschool/kinder/lower elementary we played lots of games. I mean, LOTS OF GAMES. Many of them were home-made. Some of them were just action games. My sister's kids are a little ahead of mine so she would give me ideas and send me things to make. She still will occasionally play games with her kids, and they are 13, 15,and 17! I cannot remember the last time I played a game in school with my two, who are grades 7 & 8 now. At some point my kids realized it made the day longer, and rather than sound out the word then do whatever, they'd rather just sound out the word then have more play time at the end of school. This was fine with me. Also, their subjects got more challenging and time-consuming starting in about 4th grade, so games sort of fell by the wayside.

I think that Abeka now has a packet of games for about $10 listed with their preschool or kinder stuff, and if my kids were little I'd probably buy those, too, because we played all kinds of games and it would have been nice to have games that I didn't have to make every bit of them myself. If you do make a book, rather than just giving directions, it would be nice if you had some reproducibles in there. HINT HINT!

you ought to start up planning now. quite of looking for random worksheets on-line, that could no longer also be precise, finally end up a reliable, prepared homeschool curriculum. We use video games in homeschooling. truly some the video games are defined contained in the curriculum, and the youngsters both cause them to or carry jointly the failings needed to play. you are able to order various tutorial video games from the agencies that promote curriculum. I encourage the youngsters by technique of creating use of the optimal curriculum i visit discover, and by technique of telling them they can do something they prefer after we end college. I placed up cabinets the position i desire them, and that i have 2 tables contained in the eating room. we've a cupboard to placed some issues in. you are able to artwork with what you've. for religious study, we may use a prepared Bible devotional for babies, examine Bible memories, and our curriculum actually have Bible training in it. i detect field holiday possibilities that tournament with what we are reading. Ex: even as the kids are reading historic historic previous, we are able to flow to the King Tut exhibit and omni-theater on the technology Museum of Minnesota. even as reading the Mississippi River, we flow on a padleboat journey on the Mississippi River. Use getting to understand Language Arts through Literature. we do not do peer mediation, or counciling in homeschooling. God and individuals are the guides for homeschooled babies, no longer friends. the youngsters get council through the Bible and individuals. Siblings are also efficient in some cases. protection is area of well being classification. No, 4H isn't loose. listening to classical music is often area of a homeschool curriculum. also hymns. i provide you with some web content that you'll inspect curriculum.
