My dog is newly blind, and has been peeing EVERYWHERE in the house. He never had problems with this before, so I'm sure it has something to do with his new disability. He has a doggy door, and he usually goes outside to poo, so I just don't know what to think. Any information would be very helpful.

I refer to puppy pads alot because they really do work,
because the are scented and they attract the dog to it.
Since your poor dog is now blind, I would try keeping him in
one area until he gets used to the pad, and than take it
outside and leave it there for him so he knows where to go.
Also, I would praise the dog alot, as much as possible when
he does go where you want him to, and give him treats,
since this is much harder for him now. But I am sure you
will have success with this method.

Ive had some experience before. Depending on breed use treats to lure your dog around the house. Allow him to find markers hes familar with. Lead him out throught the dog door. Always Always praise heavily. Remember this a trumatic time for the dog. I have some training techniques linked on my site you may find helpful. burdicklabradors.com helpful links under training.

My guess is that make the house easy to walk around. Pick up things from the floor. Make his/her corner close to the doggie-door, to you on the couch. Remember to take the dog out for his/her daily walk. Give him/her much love and attention.

what does being blind have to do with it? it's his sense of smell that tells him where to pee.
