It means the paint, interior, and body are shot, the engine and running gear are all used up, but the thing just keeps running.

It would cost more than it would ever be worth to fix it up.

a beater is an old car that has/will take a lot of abuse but still run

what kind of car is it? it depends on the make/model. Just look up reports on that car.

Nope i wouldn't buy that car with the miles it has being a gmc. I would suggest a honda/toyata. I would also suggest a car, cars are safer than suvs and better on gas. A car is safer because it won't roll over, and the impact damage is the same as an suv. All an suv will do is make you "feel safe".

Cheap piece of junk car. Buy it cheap and drive it till it dies cause with the exception of few are not worth putting much money in. I drive a 500 dollar beater truck that has lasted me 1.5 years now. I have changed the oil once. When it dies I get my other beater truck and pull this one off for scrap metal to get a 100 bucks of my money back. Some people call them work cars. Which is just a go to work come home and other odd junk car so you do not mess up your good one ifin you have a good one.
