Ok, my cell phone will let me record sounds as a .qcp file, but will not let me use them as ringtones. If I could convert them to a .midi file I would be able to. Is there any sort of program or website that can do this? Or maybe a place where I can download .midi files for free? I'm tired of paying $2 for a ringtone when I could make my own.

The QCP file format is used by many cellular telephone manufacturers for providing voice ring tones. It is based on RIFF, a generic format for storing chunks of data identified by tags. The QCP format does not specify how voice data in the file is encoded. Rather, it defines sets of meta-data which identify the encoding scheme used, where individual chunks of the encoded voice data are stored in the file, and supplementary information such as indexing points and text labels. Typical encoding schemes used in QCP files are QCELP and EVRC.

There is no known conversion process for converting .qcp to M.I.D.I.

Ultamatley the musical content of the .qcp (ringtone) has to be simulated manually on a electronic musical keyboard or music/record/edit software like Cakewalk and then saved as a M.I.D.I. file or the 'Song' desired can be search for on the internet as a already existing GM M.I.D.I file.
