How can I contain edible "blood" inside a cake??

Question

My current thought is to make a chocolate oval-shaped shell out of melted chocolate and then use an injector to fill it up once it's inside the cake.

Any other ideas? I haven't tried this before

haha sorry! I'm making a 'boob' cake and the buyer wants the breasts filled with edible blood. The "blood" is actually korn syrup and cherry kool-aid. lol!

bake a cake in a bowl shaped pan. scoop out the center (bottom) then coat with caramel and let set poor your filling in and freeze then top with another coating of caramel let set then turn out onto serving plate.

This is from earlier today? So now you have the blood. You are on the right track, now you need and edible capsule or capsules, anything you can coat with chocolate and release from the chocolate would work, I'm looking at the little lid from my mini Sparkletts water bottle, coating the outsides of some of those would make some nice sized capsules, heat the 2 halves and stick them together, then inject and melt the pinhole closed. I just read your edit, if it's just for the effect then use a small water balloon filled, you know it's in there and once the effect is over then pull the rubber part out

What about one of those Betty crocker bake & fill pans? I got mine from Bed bath & beyond. Or what about using a white cake mix (buy egg whites) and red jello mix? The outside is brown but inside is red! Or even red food coloring. Or try www.ppk.com she has a recipe for cupcakes.

you could make a double layer cake, put frosting on the bottom layer and then a layer of the blood. put the other layer on top and frost the whole thing.
